The Chiltern Guesthouse is situated just 300 yards from the sea and sands and 800 yards from the harbour, where you will find all the traditional attractions of a Yorkshire east coast resort. Just outside the guest house there are views across the River Esk to the historic Whitby Abbey.

Cross the famous old swing bridge and take a walk along the cobbled streets with its quaint shops and you will be taken to the bottom of the famous 199 Abbey Stairs.
